Accounting Degree Program

Accounting is the "language" of business and the study of tracking business incomes/assets over time to assist in determining, analyzing and communicating financial results to interested parties. Accountants engage in a variety of activities which include: preparing and analyzing financial statements, recording business transactions, reporting financial information, using information systems to track financial performance, auditing, and managing a company's financial information. Many successful businesspersons began their careers as accountants because, as accountants, they spent much of their time looking under the hoods of businesses and understanding how a business functions.

The Bachelors of Science Degree Program in Accounting (BSA) introduces students to functional areas of accounting involving preparation and analysis of financial reports, financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, taxation and other financial activities. The courses provide students with varied interests, the opportunity to understand the role of accounting in the measurement and communication of financial data.
