Electrical Wiring Lab

Environment

Students are assigned to one of 69 wiring stations supervised by senior instructors. The stations are designed to mimic real-world job sites. Safety is strictly enforced and hard hats are always required.

Objectives

  1. To learn how to install wires, conduit tubing, outlets, switches, panels, breakers and other electrical devices covering articles within the National Electric Code.
  2. To build teamwork and communication skills necessary for safe and efficient work in the electrician field.

Projects

Wire up a mock house using methods and knowledge learned in NEC code classes and in the lab. The completed project is precisely tested and inspected according to the codes.
